What's New for 2009
November 26, 2009
Happy Thanksgiving to our friends and family in the U.S. We hope you have a safe and memory filled holiday. We have a skim of ice on the bay now and very little snow up at camp.
October 20, 2009
Jim and Veronica were blessed with a granddaughter today. Her name is Brooke, she is a 7lb 6oz healthy baby. Blair is now a dad, most people got their wish, he had a girl.
October 12, 2009

Happy Thanksgiving Canada. The weather up at camp is still really nice; we still have leaves on the trees and a little freshly fallen snow.
October 8, 2009
Moose Hunts are all done for the year. We had 100% success. The weather was unseasonably warm again. No bulls over 60” this year. We hope to get some pictures back from our hunters soon.

This is the moose Sid got in Canada on September 25, 2009. We processed 374 pounds of meat and gave away approximately15 to 20 pounds.

It feels like summer has just begun with the great weather we've had for the last 2 weeks. Summer however is fading as are the long nights, we know this because Preston and Shirley packed up and went home today....sniff sniff. Here are a couple of pictures from their summer at Kamuchawie lake.

The St. Columbkille, Boy Scouts of America troop #359 from Papillion Nebraska.
This was an amazing troop. Everyone was so respectful, helpful and well mannered. We only wish we could have ordered better weather. It was rainy and cool for most of their trip, being boy scouts they made the best of it. They worked on merit badges, braved the rain and went fishing, kept the camp as clean as a whistle and were just a pleasure to have around.

V, Scott and Aimee loving the summer fishing at Tomahawk. They released all the walleye over 4 lbs. Aimee the vegetarian even ate walleye that night. Way to go, Ames!

The first group into Kamuchawie Lake for the 2009 season. Due to the late spring there is still a lot of ice on Kamuchawie lake but this crew made the best of it and had a great time.

Hello Slims folks,
Here are three pictures from our trip/stay at Slims June 7-13, 2009.
One picture shows Wally Muscott weighing in the largest fish of the trip for us - 18 lbs.

Another picture shows what was in the mouth of that 18 lb. pike - the tail end of another pike!

The other picture shows the results of a triple hook-up on the fourth day (Thursday) of our trip. Wally Muscott and Shawn Eppel hold up the three pike. The largest of those three fish went 16 lbs. The two big fish were hooked almost at the same time. I helped Shawn boat his fish, set his rod down on the side of the boat and got ready to help my dad with the 16 lb. pike. Within 60 seconds of setting Shawn's rod down, another pike came up and hit the lure dangling in the water.
Totally crazy feeding frenzy that day, with pike busting huge schools of minnows all around us. Our boat landed, on the conservative side, over 120 fish that day.
We had fun.
Thank you,
Kahl Muscott

Camp is busy weather is still much cooler than normal. Flanagan, Hunting Lake, Laurie Lake and Kipahagn lakes all still have lots of ice. Reports from the guests are that fishing is really hot or cold.....where are the pictures people?

May 20, 2009
"Still snowing."

May 19, 2009
"We woke up to three inches of snow today. Fisherman went up river 15 miles today and said the river is 90 percent open just large bays such as ours are still iced in."

May 18, 2009
"The river is opening more and more every day. Fishing is great, but the bay still has ice."

May 16th, 2009
"We're open! It's a cool start to the year. The bay is full of ice but the river is open and we have boats in the water and lots of eager anglers."
