Cameron Falls this morning. As we come to the end of August the leaves are starting to hint at the color change to come. Late August has been very cool feels more like September. The fishing has still been great. We have just started the wild rice picking. Looks like it will be a good harvest. We have a full compliment of moose hunters this fall and are looking forward to their arrival in a few weeks.

July has been a hot dry month. The only thing hotter than the temperature has been the Big Northern Pike fishing. Guests have been complaining that their arms are sore from reeling in so many fish. Walleye fishing has also been outstanding. Was too hot to eat inside last night we had to move up in the campground......sounds like a good excuse for a party.

Slim's Cabins new employee Lars Ronning on his lunch break landed this 21lb Northern Pike. He and his father caught and released 10 fish over 10lbs this afternoon. Lars says “It's been the best day of my life!”

Opening weekend has arrived. The camp is full of many familiar faces and some new ones. Opening day is a warm sunny day. We seem to be one of the only areas in North Central Saskatchewan not getting any snow. Walleye fishing is great. No stories of any big Northern Pike today.
