The moose hunting season came to a close today. We had a 100 % success rate. The average bull was 48”. Here is Karl Kalbus' 2005 moose.

Here is our friend Blake Fredrickson and his buddy Kurt at one of our day fly in lakes. Blake landed this 40” Pike and successfully released it. Great job Blake!

Here is V's 25 lb Northern Pike caught and released 8 miles from camp. She hates to admit it but Jim had to help her bring this bad boy into the boat. Way to go V.

For everyone who saw mother mallard and shook their head at her choice of nesting spots, we are happy to report that she and all of her little ducklings made their way safely to the water today.

Plans are under way to expand Tomahawk Lake accommodations. The spring of 2006 will bring a kitchen double the size, with windows to capture the lake view (noted below) and other improvements.

The Swanson Party. How many laptops can one cabin hold? By far the most high tech group at Slim's. Another great example of responsible anglers. We understand that in 2006 Paul will be opening his “How to swim the rapids clinic”. Can't wait to see how many gigs and mega pixels 2006 brings.

Good to see the Tessendorf group back again this year. Gary led the way with a 47” and 45” Northern Pike. These two fish and all other Northern's over 10 lbs were released. Way to go guys! We understand most of these fish were caught around Tessendorf Island........Go Big Red.

T. J. Wahl better known around these parts as A. J. says goodbye to his favorite fishing pole.....It caught more than 1000 walleye on the Churchill River before it's untimely demise.

The ice is moving out on schedule this year. Hooray! The buds on the trees are bursting with new life. Everyone at Slim's is busy preparing for what I'm sure will be a fantastic year. We are excited to welcome back old friends and meet many new faces.
